How to use Disk Usage Analyzer?
The first thing you need Disk Usage Analyzer for is to search for excessively large files. The program will analyze the disk space and give you a visual result. To do this, you need to run Baobab. The interface looks like this:
You need to click on the “Select” button, which is located in the upper left corner of the window. In the context menu, you will need to specify the target directory for analysis. This can be any disk or folder on the computer.
Then you can start the analysis itself. You need to click the “Start Analysis” button, which is next to “Select”. The line highlights in gray which directory will be analyzed. In the example, it is drive C.
The time required for analysis depends on the size of the selected directory. On average, the process takes from 5 to 20 minutes. The analysis result looks like this:
- A table showing file names and the percentage of space they occupy.
- A graph that allows you to understand in a graphical format – similarly, which file takes up how much space.
